As a part of his ongoing CRWN interview series, Rap Radar CEO Elliott Wilson sat down with A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip and Jarobi White to discuss their triumphant return. The interview went down last Friday at NYC’s Webster Hall and touched on everything from the group’s 18-year break to their memories of Phife Dawg to their sixth and final studio album We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service. As expected, there were plenty of notable moments throughout the conversation—but if you weren’t able to catch it live, don’t worry.

The full sit-down can be viewed today exclusively on Tidal. Fans can get additional insight to the group’s final bow as well as their decision to reunite after so many years.

“The thing that inspired it was we performed on Jimmy Fallon for the 25th anniversary of the first album,” Q-Tip told Elliott of the group's decision to make a new album. “We immediately felt that energy. Jarobi and I were heading to the site, and I was like we need to do an EP […] This incarnation of what Tribe is today, is the most fulfilling thing I have ever done.”

We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service was ATCQ’s first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 in over two decades. That news was announced Nov. 20, which would have also been Phife Dawg’s 46th birthday.

"How amazing is it that Phife had a number 1 album for his birthday this weekend,” ATCQ collaborator Consequence said during the interview.

You can watch the full conversation above. In addition to Q-Tip, White, and Consequence, Busta Rhymes also makes an appearance.
