Almost one year after dropping his eighth studio album, Black Market, Miami Native Rick Ross has returned with a new single entitled “Kyrie.” As the title suggests, Rozay is shouting out NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving of the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers. Production is provided by DP Beatz, and Ross uses the dark synths to weave in plenty of NBA references with boasts about extralegal exploits.

“Bitches screaming for me like Beyoncé/Work jumping out the gym like it’s LeBron James/This other type of money even make me nervous/I’m standing out the roof, jersey Kyrie Irving,” Ross raps.

The 2015 MVP, Stephen Curry, Ross’ signature sparkling rosé Luc Belaire, and Rozay's Bugatti Boyz partner Sean Combs all get shoutouts as Ross updates his Rajon Rondo references from 2010’s Ashes To Ashes in favor of another top caliber point guard. There’s also the curious choice to apparently reference the 2013 attempt on his life, as Ross spits, “They hit me close range/Bitch ain’t hit a thang.” For good measure, Ross made sure to tweet out an image of a club shot featuring Irving.

The single adds to the seemingly perpetual stream of recent Maybach Music Group releases, as Omarion’sReasons dropped on Oct. 23 and Meek Mill's DC4 was released four days later. Additionally, Ross is still promoting 2015’s Black Market with a recent video for "Free Enterprise," which finds him calling out president-elect Donald Trump.

Ross’ eighth solo set sold approximately 50,000 units during its first week of release, and the album peaked at the number six spot on Billboard magazine’s Top 200 albums chart last year.
