Get Familiar stalwart and recent Golden Era records signee I AM D has finally dropped his debut EP, M.N.T.N.S (Mirrors Never Told Nice Stories), and with it came this menacing visual treatment for the song "Seven Deuce". While it doesn't feature a chorus, the Brisbane rapper's straight spittin' is more than enough of a hook to tide over this four minute lyrical exercise.

Spit Syndicate "Inhibitions"

With their fourth album on the way in early 2017, Spit Syndicate have been coming in hot with some slick singles, and "Inhibitions" is very possibly their smoothest jam yet. The track is produced by Styalz Fuego, features vocals from Maribelle, and touches on both trap and garage elements – according to the rap duo themselves it's suitable for the "pre-party, party and kick on", and they're not wrong at all.

The Yung Dready Bastrd "Stacks"

Following in the steps of Brisbane's Midas.Gold, Sydney's Yung Dready Bastrd comes through with this heavy trap banger, called "Stacks". Flexing shirtless in some Hilfiger, YDB tells us all about his preferences in women over minimal keys and and some knockin' 808s – while it might seem like a tried and true formula, Dready brings something else to it that can't quite be explained.

A.B. Original (Briggs & Trials) "Report To The Mist"

Arguably the most anticipated release in Aussie rap this year, A.B. Original's Reclaim Australia has been universally praised by damn near every single publication out there, and for very good reason. This album highlight borrows a line from Ice Cube's "Now I Gotta Wet'Cha", touching on some serious subject matter, including police brutality and deaths in custody, over a thumping menace of a beat.
