If you were one of the people going crazy over French Montana’s MC4 release, you may missed another big announcement from the Bronx rapper. Amidst all the buzz surrounding his tape Saturday, French sent out a tweet that hinted at another upcoming project. And, no, he wasn’t talking about his official sophomore album; he was talking about a joint record with his longtime friend and collaborator Max B.

According to the tweet, Max B has a “studio” in his new jail, which means he can now record music for, what we assume will be, the third installment of Coke Wave. French didn’t provide any more details on the project or Max’s situation, but it sounds like he has access to some recording equipment. (We’re not sure if French mistakenly snitched on Max B with the post.)

Earlier this year, French dropped a mixtape called Wave Gods, which was hosted by Max B and served as way to keep his name alive. He was also the subject of a controversy between Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, as they argued about who was responsible for originating the wavy movement. It led to Max B getting an interlude on 'Ye's The Life of Pablo, which gave younger fans an idea of how the Silver Surfer was such an innovator.

In 2009, Max B was found guilty of charges related to murder, assault, robbery, and kidnapping. He was originally facing up to 75 years in prison; however, after he pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter, his sentence was reportedly lowered to 20 years.

During an interview with Funkmaster Flex, French said Max B’s release depends on his behavior, and that he could be released within the next couple of years.

“What they're saying is he can come home in as early as two years. But if he fuck it up, then he could do up to six," he said. "It's great news for the city."
