Just after performing together on the Country Music Awards on Wednesday night, Beyoncé and the Dixie Chicks released a wild re-imagining of Bey's "Daddy Lessons." The tune, which includes a snippet of the Chicks' hit "Long Time Gone," hews close to the album arrangement with its Dixieland horns and traditional country instrumentation. But the Dixie Chicks' harmonies add a whole new element.

Beyoncé later released the standalone video for the track, which originally appeared in her LEMONADE film. You can watch it above.

The recorded version of the collaboration, which you can hear above, seems to have been recorded live in the studio, judging from the dialogue that follows the song.

The announcement that Bey was going to perform at the CMAs initially made some country fans suspicious. But the response to "Daddy Lessons" at the ceremony was incredibly enthusiastic.

Some people, however, were not feeling it, and minced no words in expressing their displeasure.
