Late October brought news of Kanye West venting frustrations about relations between Apple Music and Tidal and intimating there was some type of rift with Jay Z. West was recorded at a show saying, "Don't call me after the robbery and say, 'How you feeling? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house like we’re brothers.'"

Things escalated Saturday after a Sacramento, California when West referenced Taylor Swift’s 2009 win over Beyoncé during the MTV Video Music Awards.

“Beyoncé, I was hurt, because I heard that you said you wouldn't perform unless you won video of the year over me and over ‘Hotline Bling’”, West said. “Now, don’t go trying to diss Beyoncé. She is great. Taylor Swift is great. We are all great people. We are all equal. But sometimes we be playing the politics too much and forgetting who we are just to win.”

Perhaps the “don’t go trying to diss Beyoncé” part was lost on some listeners because the ever vigilant set of Beyoncé fans dubbed the BeyHive bombarded West on all forms of social media Sunday. As expected, everything from West’s family members and his music were included.

Amid the epic amounts of shade from detractors, there was real concern from those in the industry, including West collaborator Talib Kweli. The Brooklyn MC offered some sharp criticism:
