Terror Squad and D.I.T.C. member Fat Joe recently translated his love of sneaker culture to the retail world by opening of the UPNYC sneaker boutique with Scotty Spinna. While MLB All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners made a notable celebrity appearance, another A-list cameo from someone known for wearing Yankee pinstripes was also part of the store’s grand opening.

“I’m uptown...I’m in The Bronx,” 50 Cent said, while he taped himself driving to the store’s grand opening in an Instagram video. “I’m getting ready to pull up on UPNYC and see what’s up with Fat man’s sneaker store real quick to see how this shit plays out.”

Fifty was greeted by a line of customer’s wrapped around the building, and the crowd cheered for the Queens native once he stepped out of his car and revealed himself.

Fat Joe and 50 Cent infamously beefed for the better part of the early Aughts, as the feud was highlighted by viral videos and diss tracks such as “Piggy Bank” and “My FoFo.” However, the longstanding feud was quashed in 2012, as 50 and Fat Joe both performed in a tribute to the late Violator co-founder and manager Chris Lighty at the BET Hip Hop Awards. The reconciliation was further cemented with the 2014 release of DJ KaySlay’s “Free Again,” which found 50 Cent and Fat Joe recording together.
