It sounds like Playboi Carti just landed a major deal. During a recent performance with his friend and collaborator A$AP Rocky, it was announced that the 19-year-old rapper had signed to Interscope Records. And he hasn’t even released a full-length project yet.

“Listen, this nigga Playboi Carti, man, it’s a good time for this nigga,” Rocky can be heard saying in a video. “[Carti] just got signed to Interscope and shit, he bout to fuck shit up. Shout out to Playboi Carti in this bitch one time.”

On Sunday, A$AP Ferg, who is Carti's co-headliner on the Turnt & Burnt Tour with Rob $tone, echoed Rocky with a congratulatory tweet:

Back in 2015, it was reported that Carti had signed to A$AP/Awful Records under the RCA umbrella, which made sense considering his previous work and association with the A$AP crew; however, he never released a complete project since the announcement, only a number of singles as well as some features for names like Gucci Mane and Rich the Kid. Fans have been patiently awaiting his first mixtape, though, which is expected to drop very soon. Now that he has inked a deal with a big-time record label, we're sure the project is going to take Carti to the next level.

Interscope Records did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.
