Each month we've been working on getting you up to date with what you may have missed from the most interesting, unique, and ground-breaking artists in the country.

In September, we saw one particularly massive collaboration with a Wu Tang general, some select standouts coming from a pair of brilliant full-length projects, and a few super dope releases from some prodigious rap rookies.

Featuring singles from Maribelle, Ivan Ooze, Remi and Nico Ghost, this one's sure to kick your whole weekend into gear. Check out September's playlist down bottom, and check in at the back end of October for the next installment.

Remi "Uh Uh I'm Gone"

To put it simply, with the release of Divas & Demons this month, Remi has one of the best local releases of the year under his belt. While many of the songs could take a spot here, "Uh Uh I'm Gone" is a brilliant moment from the album, with right-hand man Sensible J really bringing the heat with a sample-driven production and a chunky bassline.

Meanwhile, Remi switches between straight rapping and a sing-songy flow, creating the illusion of a chorus floating up through the novel narrative. Really though, these guys don't need a hook for this shit; the whole damn joint is catchy as hell.

Maribelle "Say It For Me"

Maribelle dropped her debut EP "Overtake" at the beginning of the month, and even on first listen it was very clear the Melbourne songstress had come through with an extremely polished and forward-sounding project. While her first single "Shout" is undoubtedly a contender for one of the best local songs of the year, there's still plenty of jams on the rest of the track list, including this one.

"Say It For Me" could very well be the next single, boasting a massive drop reminiscent of Justin Bieber's "Where Are U Now" and some impressive vocal switches, with Maribelle deftly flicking between soft ballad vibes and all-out vocal acrobatics. If it's taken you this long to get familiar with Maribelle, it's time for a crash course on an artist that's just on the verge of blowing up exponentially.
