Young M.A. started making some pretty major waves in the rap game around last May when she dropped her single "Ooouuu." That song has climbed the charts pretty steadily over the last few months, racked up millions of views on YouTube, and is in major "Song of the Summer" discussions. On Saturday, the Brooklyn rapper shared a remix of "Ooouuu" featuring none other than French Montana.
French goes hard off the top and kicks things off with a fresh new verse. In it, he touches on issues like police brutality and the recipe for success he learned from Puff Daddy. "I heard they're hating on the coke boy / Since Chinx died I ain't even trust the po-po / Watch blue faced, got it in the choke hold / I be that new Ma$e, kill 'em with the slow flow / Ha, like I ain't got the recipe / Watchin' Love and Basketball Sanaa next to me / Ooh, and the model next to me / You call her Santiago / I call her Stephanie / Puff told me 'Get that money French' / Stay close, watch my moves, make a hundred quick."
Young M.A. is the latest MC trying to shift the spotlight back on New York as the hotbed for what's next in rap music. She's already well on her way to releasing her first studio album Herstory, and along the way has picked up some major co-signs from the city's biggest names. In addition to French, she recently met up with 50 Cent who posted a picture of the two of them together on his Instagram, declaring, "YOUNG MA the hottest shit out right now," before adding, "I'm glad she from New York."
