Miguel more than delivers on his newest offering, "Cadillac," which debuted Thursday on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show

The song finds Miguel weaving his brand of classic psychedelic soul as his voice floats over the horn-infused beat where he sings about taking a lucky someone to heaven in the backseat of his Cadillac. It's pretty obvious what Miguel is trying to get at in the track, which completely breaks apart from any normal song structure as it drowns into a puddle of blaring horns and woozy production in the last minute.

The sweet-moving track serves as Miguel's contribution to The Get Down soundtrack, which is already shaping up to be an incredible musical project in its own right with contributions from Nas, Grandmaster Flash, Leon Bridges, Raury, Jaden Smith, Zayn, Nile Rodgers, Christina Aguilera, and more.

The made for Netflix series is the product of Baz Luhrmann (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge) and stars Jaden Smith, Shameik Moore (Dope), and Mamoudou Athie as Grandmaster Flash. It follows a group of teens making it in the flourishing music scene of New York in the '70s. Meanwhile, Nas is an executive producing while simultaneously supplying raps to the show's many characters and the real-life Grandmaster Flash is on board as an associate producer.

Listen to Miguel's new "Cadillac" below and look out for the first six episodes of The Get Down to premiere on Netflix on Aug. 12 with the series' soundtrack dropping the same day on RCA and Luhrmann’s label, House of Iona.
