Thursday, M.I.A. brings us one step closer to the release of her new album, A.I.M. with her newest track "Bird Song."

The track is labeled a remix, but the Blaqstarr-produced version is allegedly the one that will make it onto her new album, according to Pitchfork. If you remember, Blaqstarr also co-produced M.I.A.'s earlier release, "Go Off" with Skrillex, which is also set to appear on the album along the the previously released "Borders."

M.I.A. also promised another version of "Bird Song," which is produced by Diplo, will arrive August 12. News of the collaboration definitely surprised many fans since the two have a checkered past, publicly falling out before exchanging shots over Twitter. The track will mark the first time that M.I.A. and Diplo have worked together since her 2010 album, MAYA.

We can also look forward to seeing Zayn appear on the project on a track called "Freedun." "We have the same publishers and they wanted me to demo some songs for Zayn," M.I.A. recently told Entertainment Weekly of how the collaboration came about. "I didn’t really approach him for my own record until later on...We’ve just been going back and forth on, you know, WhatsApp."

As for the album, M.I.A. has noted that we can expect to hear a completely new side of her. "It's kinda got mad people kinda coming together on it. It's the cleanest album I have," she told Annie Mac.

Check out Blaqstarr's version of "Bird Song" above and look for M.I.A.'s A.I.M. to arrive September 9 on Interscope.
