Drake and Makonnen had somewhat of a falling out earlier this year after Makonnen left OVO. Although the split seemed like it was fairly benign and amicable, there hasn't been much of a public relationship between the two parties since. And now, it appears as though there might actually be some real drama going on.

After the VMAs on Sunday, Makonnen confronted Drake in a series of tweets, asking him what was going on with their relationship and referencing some type of run-in the two had. Although the exact nature of the issue isn't clear, Makonnen was obviously upset when he sent out the tweets.

"All I have is love and respect for everyone," Makonnen wrote. "I was there tonight to meet and greet everyone with love, this is so weird." He went on to tag Drake directly in a since-deleted tweet. "Idk what is all this about?" he wrote. "@Drake I have no beef or animosity towards u, what happened just now is beyond me, I hope we can talk about this."

Curiously, Makonnen also noted that he has no way to contact Drake's team directly, thus forcing him to do it through Twitter. Drake never responded to the tweets, and Makonnen ended up deleting them.

Although Makonnen split with the label back in April, he released a statement a short time later to say that he had no beef with Drake. "I cannot thank OVO, 40, Oliver, Future & Mr. Morgan enough for all that they have done for my career," he said at the time. "No words can express how much I appreciate Drake for being a part of the success of Tuesday. I’m sure the haters will have something negative to say, but all in all my choice to be solely on Warner Bros Records was the right thing for me and for my best interest. Sorry there’s no beef to report."

It looks like things have changed since then, but the how and why are still a mystery.
