On the fifth anniversary of Amy Winehouse's death, the Amy Winehouse Foundation is set to open a home for women recovering from alcohol and drug addiction in her hometown of London. Named after the singer, the new Amy's Place home will help recovering addicts adjust back to everyday life and reintegrate into society.

"There are about six women-only rehabs, and beyond that, there’s an even greater paucity of women-specific recovery housing beds," the Amy Winehouse Foundation's special project director Dominic Ruffy told The Guardian"There is only one other women-only recovery house in London and it’s only a four-bed with a six-month waiting list."

The foundation consulted with women at one of the few women-only rehab centers in London to determine the ideal recovery set up and will offer a three-month program that includes yoga, relapse prevention groups, and workshops meant to teach skills and help find jobs for the women.

Amy Winehouse's life was plagued by struggles with addiction and an intense media scrutiny as she rose to stardom before she tragically passed away five years ago at the young age of 27 from alcohol poisoning. Since her death, Winehouse's legacy has been celebrated by family and friends as well as fellow artists and filmmakers. An Amy Winehouse exhibition opened at The Jewish Museum in London two years after she passed away and a bronze sculpture of the singer was built in her honor. More recently, Asif Kapadia's documentary Amy offered a look at the late icon's life through previously unseen home footage and went on to become the highest grossing British documentary ever, but her family went on record and criticized the film as being "misleading."
