In the wake of the senseless murder of former The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie following her concert in Orlando on Friday night, fans and musical colleagues lined up in droves to pay tribute to her memory. Her coach during the singing competition, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, wrote that he was "devastated and heartbroken." Blake Shelton added that he was "stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl." Meanwhile, the show itself tweeted out, "There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice. Our hearts go out to the friends, fans and family."

Selena Gomez also added to that sentiment during her concert in Miami, Florida last night while dedicating her performance to the late singer. "When she was 14, we met her and my parents and I signed her," she revealed to the crowd with tears welling up in her eyes. "One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it's not about a religion and it's not about anything or good deeds. It's just that she had faith, and I don't really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her."

With that, she took a seat at a black grand piano and played the song "Transfiguration." She followed up that number with "Nobody," which she only barely managed to get through, apologizing to the audience midway through when her emotions got the best of her.

The full details of what happened to Grimmie are only starting to come into focus. On Friday, June 10, following her show at the Plaza Live Theater, Grimmie was approached by an individual named Kevin James Loibl who raised a gun and shot the singer. Loibl was then taken to the ground by Grimmie's brother, and in the ensuing melee, shot and killed himself.
