Less than 36 hours after Selena Gomez's tearful tribute to slain singer Christina Grimmie, Gomez's stepfather Brian Teefey has successfully raised more than $100,000 for Grimmie's family using GoFundMe. The GoFundMe for Grimmie's family was created on June 11 and has far surpassed its initial goal of $4,000. It currently sits at more than $120,000 raised and counting. The page includes a heartfelt note from Teefey, who describes Grimmie as a "second daughter" to him.

"Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling," he writes. "I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided. In Christina’s honor, I have created a GoFundMe page to assist her family in their time of need."

Teefey was Grimmie's manager, having signed her when she was just 14. Gomez's whole family was close to her, as Gomez noted during her tribute performance on Saturday. She played the songs "Transfiguration" and "Nobody" in Grimmie's honor and was barely able to get through them due to her emotions.

Adam Levine, Grimmie's coach when she competed on the sixth season of The Voice who told fans he was devastated by the news, offered to cover the late singer's funeral expenses, according to Grimmie's brother, Marcus. "I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away," Marcus wrote on Facebook. He also said the amount of money raised on the GoFundMe page has left him overwhelmed adding, "Words cannot express...literally I have no words."

Details about the circumstances surrounding Grimmie's death have started to come into focus. According to a CNN report, police identified Kevin James Loibl, a 27-year old man from St. Petersburg, Fla., as her killer. He reportedly shot Grimmie following a show in Orlando on Friday. After shooting Grimmie, he turned the gun on himself.
