Meat Loaf Rushed to Hospital After Collapsing During Show in Edmonton (UPDATE)

After canceling a show only a few days before, Meat Loaf collapses onstage in Canada and is rushed to a nearby hospital.

UPDATED 10:30 a.m. ET: Meat Loaf is in stable condition and is expected to make a "speedy and full recovery," according to an update shared by his camp on his Facebook. "His vital signs are stable and normal—he's responsive and recovering well," the update reads before adding "He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well wishes." Rock icon Meat Loaf collapsed onstage on Thursday night during a concert in Edmonton, Canada. At around 9:30 pm, the singer, whose real name is Michael Lee Aday, was starting his 1993 hit, "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)," when the incident occurred.

According to people on the scene, ambulances arrived shortly thereafter.

Meat Loaf canceled a scheduled appearance in Calgary earlier this week due to "illness."

Julia Wong, a reporter at Global Edmonton, talked to Alberta Health Services. They confirmed that an unnamed patient had been rushed to the hospital due to a "fainting episode."

UPDATE: Meatloaf was revived, after feinting on stage at The Jube. Sources say he was awake & knew his name, EMS took him to hospital.

Other unconfirmed reports had the singer conscious and lucid after the incident.

Complex spoke to an AHS spokesperson, who told us, "A patient was transported from the Jubilee Auditorium earlier tonight to an Edmonton hospital." The spokesperson declined to further comment.
