UPDATED August 13, 4:55 p.m. ET: According to Top Dawg President Anthony Tiffith, the final mixes for Ab-Soul's upcoming album are in and a release date should be announced shortly.

See below for the original story.

Ab-Soul hit Twitter Tuesday night to alert fans that the tracklist for his new album has been turned in, which could mean that we will be hearing new music from the Top Dawg Entertainment artist sooner rather than later. It's still unknown what the new album will be called, but Soul did hashtag the tweet with #DWTW, which could be a hint at the title's acronym.

The message can only be a positive one for fans who have been waiting for new music from Soul since his last album, These Days, dropped back in 2014. It sounded like Soul shared in his fans' frustration, tweeting back in February, "This bench is gettin warm as fucc tho mayne. Nonetheless, it's important to move as a unit. It's bigger than me. It's family."

Earlier this year, TDE's CEO updated fans on the label's release schedule for the year ahead. A list, which was presumably in chronological order, started with ScHoolboy Q, who just announced that his new album will finally be out in July. SZA and Isaiah Rashad's albums were labeled "fourth stage creative" and "third stage creative," respectively, but a more recent update from TDE's founder, Anthony Tiffith, revealed that Rashad's record was finished and that they are currently in the process of mixing it all together. Ab-Soul was next on the list that at the time was noted to be in the "mixing stage."

Last month, fans' hope was finally restored when TDE shared an Instagram featuring a short clip of Soul listening to his new album and an update on the album's status. "It’s mixing and sample clearing time. Y’all know Wut happens after that." Hopefully, it means that Soul's album will be out sooner rather than later.

TDE boasts an enviable list of artists—Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock—and has always followed a rollout schedule that ensures releases don't overlap. However, a growing roster that includes their new signing Lance Skiiiwalker, seems to have made it harder to find that same release balance.

It's hard to know yet exactly when we can expect to finally hear new music from Soul. His tweet announcing that his tracklist has been turned in is at least a step in the right direction. TDE did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we have any more information on Ab-Soul's release.

Tracclist turned in. #DWTW
