While BJ the Chicago Kid's full-length debut album won't be officially released for another week, fans get an early taste of In My Mind today thanks to NPR. The singer had previously shared a handful of tracks off the project, including "Church" featuring Chance the Rapper and Buddy and "The Resume" with Big K.R.I.T. However, none of those records matched the anticipation for "The New Cupid," BJ's latest collaboration with Kendrick Lamar.

As would be expected, "The New Cupid" hits you right in the soul, with both artists mourning past love over a sample of Raphael Saadiq's "Oh Girl." Kendrick is especially in his feels as he tries to figure out how to deal with the issue. "As I play out the Commodores/My faith destroyed/My heart don't work/I'm unemployed," he raps, before searching for a short-term solution to his heartbreak. We feel you, K.Dot.

Stream "The New Cupid" as well as the full project below. BJ the Chicago Kid's In My Mind is available for pre-order on iTunes.
