On New Year’s Day, Top Dawg Entertainment’s engineer MixedByAli tweeted some interesting tidbits about the independent label.
“In the past 10 years TDE dropped 30 albums since 2006,” he wrote. “To celebrate TDE's 10 Years/30 albums I'm dropping a Throwback TDE mix every Friday for the next two months.” Then adding, “Playing all TDE Records since 2006.”
It’s quite an accomplishment in hip-hop, and puts the roster of Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad, andSZA among other historic labels like Cash Money Records, Shady Records and more. To date, MixedByAli has been sticking to his schedule, letting loose a fire mix every week featuring some classic and unfamiliar songs from TDE’s extensive catalog.
