Lifetime has a knack for getting people riled up with their biopics (remember last year's Aaliyah blunder?), and their next one promises to be huge: a movie about the life and career of singer Toni Braxton. The new movie, set for release in January and based on Braxton's own memoir, got its first trailer today and now we have a glimpse at what to expect: Braxton's meteoric rise to the top, her grappling with bankruptcy, living with lupus, and plenty more. The Grammy award-winning singer will be portrayed by relative unknown Lex Scott Davis.

Earlier this year Braxton spoke with Huffington Post about living with lupus, saying, "Some days I can't balance it all. I just have to lay in bed. Pretty much when you have lupus you feel like you have the flu every day. But some days you get through it. But for me, if I'm not feeling well, I tend to tell my kids, 'Oh mommy's just going to relax in bed today. I kind of take it easy."
