While official tallies for Justin Bieber's Purpose album sales might not be in yet (though he's obviously got that #1), there's some early and just as reliable data that proves the album is a smash: a new Spotify record. According to Billboard, Bieber's fourth album broke the global and national records for most streams of an album in its first week of release. This week Purpose was streamed 205 million times globally, with 77 million streams counted in the US alone.

Just as impressive? Not only did Bieber break the record, he did it in the same week that One Direction topped the previous record as well. The last record, set by The Weeknd just a few months back for his Beauty Behind the Madness rollout, was also beat out by 1D's 106 million global streams.
