Detroit-born Mayaeni has long been at the helm of the music scene, working with with everyone from Linda Perry to multi-platinum producer/songwriter Toby Gad, Macy Gray, KT Tunstall and more. In 2012, the singer-songwriter inked a deal with heavyweight Roc Nation and has been steadily crafting her debut album since with the first taste arriving in the gospel-fueled release of "Black Jeans."  As she readies for her upcoming performance at this year's Made In America Festival, the singer is dropping her acid-washed cover of A$AP Rocky's "L$D" perfectly induced with her scratching, velvety-vocals and herself on guitar.

Mayaeni told us of the track "When I first heard "L$D" by A$AP Rocky, the intro grabbed my attention right away. It's so beautiful and I thought it would be fun to play on guitar. I started to vibe with it at a rehearsal session with my band, they loved it and rocked with me. I don't cover many songs, but when I do, I like the challenge of flipping & mixing genres. Plus, everything is more fun with guitar right?"

Watch the premiere of her "L$D" cover above and catch Mayaeni playing Jay-Z's Made In America Festival this September in Philadelphia (tickets here).
