Canadian singer Alessia Cara is in the early running for Rookie of the Year. Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, the 19-year-old singer/songwriter basically came out of nowhere back in April with her Isaac Hayes sampling, antisocial anthem "Here." The song's video has garnered over two million views on YouTube and has wowed plenty of critics along the way, earning Cara a feature in The New York Times. Complex even named "Here" the second best song of the year (so far). Not bad for a girl who, just a few months ago, wasn't known for much beyond posting cover songs to YouTube. With so much hype around her, we had Cara come by our offices to talk about lying as a child, making her mom cry, and her upcoming debut album, Know-It-All. Find out, Who Is Alessia Cara?
