Have you ever wondered what it'd sound like if M.I.A. or Major Lazer decided to take those worldly vibes, hope in the Delorean to the early '90s, and hook up with some house producers? "I'm A Soldier" sounds like that. Two of Mexico's most talented, Mexican Institute of Sound and Toy Selectah, linked up to create Compass, infusing their smooth club vibes with elements of dancehall and hip-hop. It's definitely different; if you're already into the Major Lazer sound, or just wanted to hear what a turnt up mariachi band would sound like, "I'm A Soldier" is a great journey into sound.

Diplo's given this one the stamp of approval, with Mad Decent snatching this cut up quick. Word is "I'm A Soldier" is the first track from Compass' forthcoming 2015 album, which truly samples the world—you'll find punk, reggae, hip-hop, cumbia, and other influences on this project, which features Boy GeorgeMC LyteSly & RobbieNina Sky, Crystal Fighters, Kool A.D., and many, many more. If this is your flavor, keep your eyes on the Compass.
