After co-writing for Rihanna, touring with 'Ye, and copping a few GRAMMYs, Melanie Fiona is gearing up to release her next album Awake. With a nod to the Caribbean sounds from her West Indian upbringing in Toronto, its first single "Bite the Bullet," sets a soulful, drum-fuelled tone for the record. The song plays on Fiona's innate ability to hit the sweet spot between catchy, radio-friendly melodies and soulful R&B. Recently relocating to L.A., Fiona spent the last few months writing, recording, and settling in to the next phase in her career.
