In conjunction with the upcoming Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York, which takes place throughout the entire month of May, we get the debut of the new mini-doc, Revolutions on Air. The short film, which you can view above, explores the stories of New York radio mix show legends like Kool DJ Red Alert, Marley Mal, Tony Humpries, and more, and goes in-depth about their experiences during the earlier parts of their storied careers.

To coincide with the film, RBMA will be holding an open roundtable discussion with a number of the individuals involved to speak about their experiences during a time when hip-hop was just being pushed to the forefront of culture. Tickets for the roundtable discussion are available through their site here.
