Grumpy old man Michael McDonald may not understand it, but sampling is an artform. Matt Daniels, creator of SampleStitch.com, wants people to understand the painstaking detail and vision that goes into creating beats from slivers of old songs. That's why his website allows you to recreate beats from J Dilla, Kanye West, and 9th Wonder with the samples served up to you "on a platter." 

It's a fun way to kill time, but it also makes you realize how damn hard it is to get the timing just right. Making the beats is challenging enough without actually having to go crate digging and envision a new arrangement.
