Rumors and speculation have been swirling about a possible D'Angelo album coming for... well, years. Earlier in the summer, Kevin Liles mentioned it would drop sometime this year but that hasn't happened. But earlier today, a mysterious trailer titled Black Messiah was tweeted out from the Afro Punk Twitter account, and while there are no official details on the album release, the trailer, which is 15 seconds long, is soundtracked by his song, "1000 Deaths."

As FakeShoreDrive pointed out, we will have to see it to believe it, but as of right now, it certainly seems that this is a teaser for a new album from D'Angelo, and that it is indeed coming soon.

UPDATE: It appears that this is really happening, as promo billboards have been spotted around NYC, and even hard copies of the album have been floating around Twitter. D'Angelo is supposedly holding a listening session on Sunday for the album, which fans can actually RSVP to here.
