UPDATE We received word that "74 is the New 24" is the name of Moroder's single, not his album.

The cold, synthethic and metronomic synths "The Chase." Swedish House Mafia-style drum programming. In the race against time, a legendary EDM veteran aspires to take the lead by pushing his timeless ideal.

74 is the New 24. No, for as much as it's certainly a septuagenarian-positive statement, it's actually the name of the just-announced first studio album (and eponymous single) in three decades released by disco groundbreaker Giorgio Moroder. Sony/RCA will be releasing the album, and in regards to this shocking news, Moroder stated the following: "[d]ance music doesn’t care where you live. It doesn’t care who your friends are. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn't care if your 74 or if you are 24 because...74 is the new 24!” For more quotes, Moroder sat with The Creator's Project to discuss his creative process for the new album.

Insofar as guest vocalists for this release, it's a who's who of global pop and EDM including Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, Mikky Ekko, Foxes, and Matthew Koma. 2014 saw Moroder craft remixes for HAIM and Colplay, as well as touring sparingly and have his name linked to a possible Las Vegas residency, too.

There has been no confirmation of a date for the album's release. The track is currently available via Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon.
