Cee-Lo Green plead no contest earlier this week to charges stemming from a 2012 incident during which he allegedly gave a 33-year-old woman ecstasy without her consent during a dinner in Los Angeles. The woman says she woke up next to Green in bed, unsure of the previous night's events, but Green's lawyer argues that the two had "consensual relations." No sex charges were filed due to a lack of evidence, as per prosecutors. He was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service.

Despite being sentenced, he apparently still felt the need to win his case in the court of public opinion...a.k.a. Twitter. He responded to a handful of tweets in regards to the case last night, leading to this series of bizarre tweets.

Cee-Lo tweeted, "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously." He also added, "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" and pointed out that there was metaphorical "no broken glass" to prove the charges. Cee-Lo added that his no contest plea was not an admission of guilt (and can't be used in any civil litigation). "So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?"

For the record, sex without consent—if the person is passed out, drugged, asleep—is rape. Plain and simple.

Despite the bold, confident tone, Cee-Lo deleted his Twitter, reactivated it and has since deleted all of his tweets. "I will not allow that negative energy to loiter on my time line," he said.

Update: TBS has canceled Cee-Lo's unscripted series, The Good Life, after one season and while The Hollywood Reporter says sources attribute it to low ratings, it does come in light of Cee-Lo's tweets this weekend and after women's rights group UltraViolet petitioned the network to cancel the show.
