Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is trying to get super paid. According to an interview with HipHopDX, the group is planning on recording and releasing one final album with the intention of selling a single copy to the highest bidder. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony manager Steve Lobel detailed the group's plans with HipHopDX, citing Wu-Tang Clan's plan to sell their final album for millions.

"A million dollars is not enough," Lobel said. "So, we’ll make the product and we’ll try to get $10 million for it. And then make something for the fans ‘cause the fans really want something."

If the group makes good on that "something for the fans" promise, then it's good to hear that the proposed $10 million album won't truly be their last.

In July, Krayzie Bone also spoke about how the Wu influenced this latest endeavor: "When I heard about what [Wu-Tang Clan] was doing—and I think it was you who told me about it—I just thought it was a brilliant and genius idea. I thought to myself, ‘It’s not that many groups that can do something like this and have major results from it—Wu-Tang being one and us another.’"

Addressing the market for the million-dollar album gimmick, Lobel didn't cite the strength of the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony brand, but instead pointed out that rich people simply like buying needlessly expensive stuff to flex.

"A lot of people just wanna say they did it. There’s a lot of billionaires around the world that might just say, ‘You know what? I’m gonna do it just to do it.’ They have nothing else to do with their money. They just wanna be cool," Lobel said.

Skeptics will question whether or not Bone Thugs-N-Harmony hold the same amount of reverence within hip-hop to command a fee similar to Wu-Tang Clan's multi-million dollar Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, but it only takes one rich Bone Thugs-N-Harmony stan to make it happen.

And according to Krazyie Bone, there's already been one bid put forth for the album. "We got a bidder, so all you all bidders better come on and start bidding ‘cause it’s going down.”

The Wu-Tang Clan have already pulled off the million dollar album, and now Bone Thugs-N-Harmony look set to do it too. It'll be curious to track what other artists become emboldened enough to chase a pay-day like this.
