We spoke with Big Daddy Kane at this year's Made In America festival in Philly. Kane, who just celebrated his 46th birthday, is constantly cited as one of rap's most influential figures, and we spoke to him about his longevity in hip-hop over the past few years. Part of his success is likely attributed to captivating live performances, which, to be honest, is totally shitting on the acts of guys half his age, and that may be because of his seamless incorporation of a live band. We asked Big Daddy Kane to breakdown the proper way to perform with a band, so if you're an up-and-coming MC, you should take notes.

Big Daddy Kane also took a trip down memory lane and detailed his mindset when he first stepped into the rap game, followed by his take on who he thinks is doing hip-hop justice these days. Check out the interview above to see who he named and more.
