There are many events in rap history that are either unknown or forgotten, from album releases to deaths to random ass events most of us can't even recall. As an attempt to remember those moments, Complex will share an event that helped shape hip-hop in a sometimes minor, sometimes major way. Join us as we look back on This Day in Rap History.

March 28, 1995

Ol' Dirty Bastard released his solo debut album Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version on March 28, 1995. The album was mainly produced by RZA, with some production from ODB himself and and Wu-Tang affiliates True Master and 4th Disciple. Featured on the album are Wu-Tang Clan members GZA, RZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Masta Killa. Return to the 36 Chambers was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 1996 Grammy's, but was beat out by Naughty by Nature's Poverty's Paradise.
