Lily Allen is so over feminism. The singer blasted it in an interview with ShortList Magazine, and called women their own worst enemy. "Feminism. I hate that word because it shouldn’t even be a thing anymore," she said, as pointed out by Fuse.
"I don't think men are the enemy, I think women are the enemy. I know that when I’m sitting in a restaurant and a really beautiful woman walks in, who’s skinny, I instinctively think, 'Oh she’s really skinny and beautiful and I’m really fat and ugly.' It’s more of a competitive thing," she continued. The singer came under fire recently after her "Hard Out Here" video was deemed both sexist and racist by some critics.
She may not be worried about feminism, but Lily is worried about having an enemy in Kanye West. She announced that she will name her forthcoming album Sheezus after Yeezus, but is now concerned that the outspoken superstar may take it as offensive versus a tribute. In a radio interview, per NME, Lily said that she's "terrified" the rapper will take the title as a shot. "It's totally not a diss," she explained. "I love Kanye, I think he's brilliant." She also gave the rant-ready rapper props for speaking his mind "whether what he's saying is ridiculous or not".
