The highlight of the BET Hip-Hop Awards is the Cypher, and 2013 is no exception. Already, a lot of focus in the buildup to the taping has been placed on the verse Kendrick Lamar delivered during the TDE Cypher, even though very few people have actually heard the verse. With the show having been taped yesterday, BET has already chosen to release the first Cypher video.
Featured in the video are four rappers on the come up: Asia Sparks from Philadelphia, Bad Lucc from Los Angeles, Astro from New York, and Problem from Los Angeles. The four rap over a hard breakbeat supplied by none other than DJ Premier, who presides over the cyphers as he has been doing for several years now.
