After building up a lot of anticipation, Jay Z has released his video for "Picasso Baby," one of the standout tracks off Magna Carta Holy Grail. The performance art video features appearances from art world luminaries such as Lawrence Weiner, Jerry Saltz, and most notably, Marina Abramovic. Jay is dressed all in white for the visual performance, his Roc-A-Fella chain prominent throughout.

The video was shot at Pace Gallery, in front of a limited audience that included the aforementioned artists (along with others), children, journalists, actors, and even "The Gifted rapper" Wale. Jay is clearly having fun, feeding off the energy of the crowd that surrounds him. At one point, he even forgets a line, distracted by the woman sitting in front of him on the bench, but manages to play it off smoothly.

"Picasso Baby," the second song off Magna Carta Holy Grail, is a fitting choice for this style of performance art video, with its numerous and somewhat prominent references to art. The beat, produced by Timbaland, samples Adrian Younge's "Sirens." More visuals should be on the way, as Jay referred to "6 pieces of art" during his impromptu Twitter Q&A session last month.
