Animal Collective has postponed the remainder of their North American tour due to a racking case of strep throat that's put band leader Avery Tare out of commission. Tare posted a message on the group's Facebook today, explaining the unfortunate turn of events to fans.

In addition to previously scratched out gigs in Toronto, Cleveland, Covington, Nashville, Royal Oak, and Chicago, the band has now postponed concerts in Madison, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Boise.

Luckily, Tare promised fans that the band would try to reschedule the cancelled dates as soon as possible. The tour's European and American summer dates are also still on schedule. The group sent out the following tweet to this effect.

We will have rescheduled dates shortly. You can hold onto your tickets to use for the rescheduled date or get refunds at point of purchase

Here's to Tare getting well soon.
