We heard the news yesterday and read his farewell letter today. Antonio "L.A." Reid—the now former CEO of Island Def Jam who left his job to become a judge on Simon Cowell's "The X Factor"—has a replacement. Barry Weiss has been named the new Chairman & CEO of Island Def Jam and Universal Motown Republic Group earlier today.

Weiss served as Chairman & CEO of RCA/Jive Label Group from 2008 to 2011 where he oversaw a roster that included Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Kings of Leon and Jennifer Hudson.
