Czech women compete for an internship with a bikini contest for some reason.

Last week, a Czech power plant that sounds like the next Chernobyl in the making held a bikini contest to hire high school graduates who were looking to join the team as interns. The company (named CEZ) then uploaded the pictures of the undoubtedly qualified applicants to their Facebook page and asked the general public to vote for their favorites.

A CEZ spokesman spoke to the Independent, and defended the unorthodox hiring procedure by saying that this isn't really very unusual for them. Sounds reassuring. In fact he said that the company frequently hires "winners of competitions either organized by CEZ or by the third parties."

"The fans on the Facebook page of the Information Centre Temelin could cast a vote on the Facebook page and choose a girl that would receive a short internship according to her preferences," the spokesman said. "If she plans to study journalism, she would do the internship in the press office, if she plans to study economy, she might do it in the economy department."

This particular bikini competition is actually a part of a larger beauty pageant called "Maturantka Roku" and not, in fact, a future Simpsons plot that was leaked and accidentally misinterpreted by media outlets as real news.

Anyway, all 10 Facebook finalists were reportedly offered a two-week position as interns. Best of luck to them—and to the surrounding area.
