The president's missed attempt at complaining about press coverage sparked a sensation.

Early Wednesday morning, Donald Trump began tweeting something about negative press coverage—or at least, that's our best guess about what he meant to say. Instead, what came out was something rather, um, different. He said, "Despite the constant negative press covfefe."

Surely he'd notice his error and delete it immediately, right? Guess again. It stayed up for most of the early morning before being deleted, and Trump eventually replaced his "covfefe" tweet with this:

Of course, there was no end of jokes and speculation.

Naturally, "covfefe" quickly got a Twitter account of its very own.

As to what the president meant to say? Well, we may have to wait for Wednesday's press briefing to figure it out.
