Here's Why a Huge Inflatable Breast Is on a London Building

For some reason, there are still people out there who have a problem with breastfeeding in public. Hopefully this inflatable breast will change that.

Sometimes the only way to successfully get a point across to the traditionally indifferent masses is to employ the strongest possible visual. For example, look at this:

That's a giant inflatable breast displayed atop a building in the Shoreditch area of London, Adweekreported Tuesday. The breast, displayed on Mother's Day (in the UK) on Sunday, was designed to send a message about the lame persistence of the ridiculous stigma surrounding breastfeeding.

"It's hard to believe that in 2017 UK mothers still feel watched and judged when feeding in public, by bottle or breast," Mother London, the agency behind the #FreeTheFeed campaign, said in a news release. The agency’s Mother's Day campaign was created as a "celebration of every woman's right to decide how and where they feed their children without feeling guilty or embarrassed about their parenting choices."

Even Pope Francis gets it. Back in January, the pope told a group of families set for baptism in the Sistine Chapel to simply do as Mary did. "Since the ceremony is a bit long, some are crying because they are hungry," he said, according to a transcript from USA Today. "If so, mothers, nurse them and don't be afraid… in all normalcy. Just as the Madonna (Mary) nursed Jesus."
