According to the NYPD, a group of "neo-Nazis" pummeled twin brothers on Saturday morning in front of a lower East Side bar after they saw an "anti-fascist" sticker on one of the brothers' cell phone cases.

The one-sided fight occurred after the brothers, both of whom are grad students at Columbia, attempted to exit the bar after seeing a number of "skinheads" hanging out there. As they were leaving they bumped into a group of apparently eagle-eyed smokers who took offense to the aforementioned sticker which read, "New York City Anti-Fascists."

"One of the guys sees [my brother’s] phone, grabs it and starts screaming, ‘I know what the fuck that means, I know what the fuck that sticker is, you need to get the fuck out of here," claimed one of the victims, according to The New York Post. "[The neo-Nazi] throws the phone on the ground and they just start jumping us right in front of the bar."

At that point a crew of six or seven men, some of whom were wearing brass knuckles, leveled a beatdown on the siblings. As they tried to run away they claim the attackers caught up to them and continued to violently attack them.

"One of the guys pulled a knife on my brother first and starts slashing at him," one of the the victims reported. "Then the guy with the knife starts coming over to me. His buddy grabs him and I guess at that point they all decide to run off."

The two men were spotted by officers in an undercover police car as they tried to call 911. The officers were able to arrest one of the suspects after the bloodied twins recognized him near the scene. That suspect was identified as 29-year-old John Young. Young was then slapped with a number of charges, including: assault, grand larceny, criminal mischief, menacing, and possession of a weapon.

As for the victims, they suffered a number of cuts and bruises. One of them had a head wound so severe that it required five staples to close it, while the other had a head wound that required two staples.

"I didn’t think something like this could happen. This is crazy," one of them said afterward. "I didn’t think they would be so brazen as to patronize a bar in Manhattan like that. I go there all the time and never felt a bad feeling."
