Pick a fruit. Any fruit. Now make a fake version of it. BOOM. You're well on your way to being busted for trying to sneak some weed through Texas.

For example, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found a shipment of would-be limes stuffed with weed in January. The total haul? According toCNN, the fake ass key limes were housing a whopping 3,947 pounds of that little thing one can legally (and easily!) purchase in multiple states across the country.

"This is an outstanding interception of narcotics," Port Director Efrain Solis Jr. of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry said in a statement Tuesday. "Our CBP officers continue to excel in their knowledge of smuggling techniques which allows them to intercept these kinds of attempts to introduce narcotics into our country. " Damn. Sounds like someone needs to take the knockout challenge.

The lime-shaped weed packages were seized on Jan. 30 at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility. Tucked way in a commercial shipment of key limes on a Freightliner tractor trailer, authorities uncovered 34,764 packages containing 3,947.37 pounds of weed. The seized items are worth an estimated $789,467. An investigation by Homeland Security agents is underway.

This tactic isn't reserved solely for fake limes. Just last year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials came upon some equally fake carrots stuffed with 2,000 pounds of weed. "Once again, drug smuggling organizations have demonstrated their creativity in attempting to smuggle large quantities of narcotics across the U.S.-Mexico border," a Port of Entry official said at the time. Whatever. I'm hungry.
