D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty’s “Broccoli” netted the pair a No. 1 Spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and ultimately gave everyone a friendly reminder that E-40 coined “broccoli” and many other of the slang terms we know and love. PETA recently partnered with D.R.A.M. to capitalize on the popularity of the double-platinum single in a video for a new advertising campaign.

“Hey guys, wait til you try this green I got,” D.R.A.M. tells a pair of friends in the ad, which plays off of “Broccoli” using the fiber-rich vegetable as a substitute for marijuana. “This right here that I got is that Cali…that real ‘dro like from back in the day.”

D.R.A.M. jokes about his plug being a white-haired lady at the farmers market before unleashing a flowered head of literal broccoli next to their bong full of weed.

“It shows that everyone can benefit from eating an ounce or two—or even a pound—of the plant that is widely accessible and perfectly legal in all 50 states,” states a release on the PSA courtesy of PETA.

Previous hip-hop-influenced PETA campaigns include Waka Flocka Flame’s anti-fur ad and Masta Killa of Wu-Tang Clan’s vegetarian PSA.
