A teacher at Plano Senior High School was released from custody on bond after she was charged with sexually assaulting and sending nude selfies to a teenage male student.

According to authorities, Alaina Ferguson was only teaching algebra for two months when she met her 16-year-old student in one of her classes. Shortly after their introduction, she allegedly began having a statutory relationship with him. The relationship allegedly began at the start of the school year after the student reportedly handed in a completed test with his SnapChat username written on it, according to the affidavit obtained by Fox

The two reportedly began chatting online shortly after. Two weeks after their conversation was initially started, the two allegedly had sex on a park bench. The two continued to engage in a sexual relationship at an undisclosed apartment, according to reports. The last time the pair reportedly had sex was in early November, the affidavit stated. The detective who filed the warrant against Ferguson also noted that the teacher told her student that "she knew it was not the right thing to do, but it felt right at the time. And that she was going to break it off with her fiancé because she didn’t feel anything with him."

The news of Ferguson's arrest has already made its way through the high school campus where she worked, according to reports. "That’s very concerning to hear you're sending your child somewhere you think is safe,"  James Bishop, a parent whose kids attend the Plano Senior High stated. "You want them to learn and get a good education but not that kind."

Ferguson was reportedly released on a $100,000 bond. As part of the terms of her release, a judge has reportedly ordered that she wear a monitoring device, deactivate all of her social media, not have any contact with the minor.

Ferguson was engaged to be married, but the wedding has been called off in light of the recent cases.
