Many people, including Oprahformer Obama advisor David Axelrod, and Azealia Banks, have been criticized for being too sympathetic to president-elect Donald Trump. But unlike some of Trump's more famous sympathizers, one little man in Texas wasn't so lucky—his mom kicked him out of the house because he voted for Trump in his elementary school's mock election.

According to KHOU, a mother in Houston, Texas is under investigation after she shared a video showing her kicking her young son out of the house because she voted for Donald Trump in his elementary school's mock election.

"Since you voted for Donald Trump, you can get your shit and get out," the mom says in the video, as the boy breaks down sobbing. The kid is forced to take his suitcase and a cardboard sign that says "My mom kicked me out because I voted for Donald Trump." While the little boy sobs in the driveway, the mom says, "Bye, Donald Trump lover!"

She shared the video on Facebook, where it was seen by millions of people.

When the child explains that he has school the next day, his mother replies with no sympathy: "You should've thought about that. Bye."

When asked why he voted for Trump in the mock election, the boy explains, "Because I see him on TV a lot." She replied to her child, who was still standing in the street, "Well, I hope you find another TV to see him on 'cause this is gonna be your new home." She added, "You can't come back here. Bye."

Some people commented on the viral video saying that the mother should be in jail for her actions. One of her neighbors, Mike Terry, told KHOU, "I can't believe a mother would go against her son like that and put her kid through that much trauma. That's awful."

The mother claims that the video was a joke, but the authorities aren't laughing.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls wrote on Facebook that he's aware of the video showing "a child being berated simply because he voted for Trump in a mock election at school." He continued, "As a parent, I find the video appalling. As your Sheriff, I have ensured the child is safe. Detectives visited with him last night. My office, CPS, the DA's Office, and FBISD PD are all working together to ensure he remains safe." The situation is still being investigated, but, Nehls added, "We all agree the video is absolutely disgusting and that child should not have been subjected to such awful behavior by his Mother."

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said it's "heard from many across the country about how shocked and outraged" people were after watching the video. The post goes on to say that it's received complaints from as far as France. "Sheriff Troy Nehls has met with District Attorney John Healey who will determine if criminal charges will be filed in this case," the post said.

Nehls said his "heart breaks for what this poor child endured." He added, "If we can find a criminal violation of law, I will personally arrest her myself."

With that said, KHOU reported that, although the video is disturbing, detectives have found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The mother has apologized for the video and the boy is still with the family and seems to be doing well.
