Canadian Immigration Website Crashes as Trump Wins Big States

As it seemed possible that Donald Trump would become president, so many people researched escaping to Canada that the country's immigration site crashed.

At around 10:30 p.m. EST, just as a Donald Trump presidency was beginning to look likely, a whole bunch of people began thinking about leaving for Canada. The flood of folks trying to find out how to go up North was large enough that the Canadian government's immigration website crashed, according to Business Insider. It has worked only intermittently since then, and was still down as of press time, nearly three hours later.

People on Twitter were quick to notice the outage.

Sounds like a joke, but the Canadian Immigration site - https://t.co/0J7yHhFDAn is down due to overloading server issues. #ElectionNight
