Despite Donald Trump’sconcerted efforts to do everything in his power to lose this election, it appears that Hillary Clinton’s path to the White House won’t be as easy as one might expect. On Saturday, Wikileaks released another barrage of emails that are reportedly verbatim transcripts of recent speeches she gave to Wall Street titan Goldman Sachs. Though the Clinton campaign has yet to confirm the authenticity of the emails—which were stolen from Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta—their content is pretty damning.

In what is now the eighth installment of Wikileaks’ alleged hack of Podesta’s email account, detailed private conversations between high ranking members of Clinton’s inner circle, reveal a campaign scrambling to defend the email scandal that has at times threatened to derail Clinton’s run at The White House. They also reveal the contents of three speeches Clinton delivered to Goldman Sachs between 2013 and 2015, in which revealed strategy on how to combat the Assad regime, saying that it needed to be done as "covertly as is possible.” She also discussed her growing disdain for political punditry, and her desire to “build a more positive relationship with Russia."

The Clinton campaign was quick to condemn the leak, while simultaneously tying Trump to Saturday’s developments and comparing it to Watergate. "There is no getting around it: Donald Trump is cheering on a Russian attempt to influence our election through a crime reminiscent of Watergate but on a more massive scale," said Clinton campaign spokesman, Glen Caplin. "We're witnessing another effort to steal private campaign documents in order to influence an election."

Trump’s shady financial ties to Russia, as well as his continued praise of Russian president Vladimir Putin, have been a contentious issue throughout most of the election, and after Saturday’s leak, expect that rhetoric to intensify during Wednesday’s hugely anticipated debate.
