The GOP believed in vice presidential candidate Mike Pence so much that it declared Donald Trump’s running mate the unequivocal winner of Tuesday’s vice presidential debate against Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine before the debate even started.

The Republican National Committee declared Pence the winner on GOP.com in a post that has since been removed. The proud post reads “The consensus was clear after the dust settled, Mike Pence was the clear winner of the debate.” Pence’s performance won the debate, according to the GOP, because of “top moments” discussing the “Economy” and “Highlighting Hillary’s scandals.” But Pence wasn’t the only winner of the night—the GOP declared Trump a winner too.

It’s not explained what Clinton scandals were being referred to, but if the past week or so have been any indication, one would think sex scandals. After the first presidential debate, Trump said he held back on bringing up Bill Clinton’s relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Trump also invited Bill Clinton’s mistress Gennifer Flowers to the first debate, only to backtrack. Speaking of scandals, a new book about the Clintons alleges interns gave Bill Clinton massages.

Sure to be brought up in the debate are Clinton’s emails and the recent news of Trump’s tax returns.
